One day of rain and it’s safe to say all reminiscence of Summer is gone. But what that does mean is that it is time for the seasonal wardrobe rotation! Any items of clothing or footwear that remotely resemble summer have been well and truly shoved to the depths of the wardrobe, not to be seen again until the weather re-reaches a comfortable 25 degrees. And whilst I love Summer, I’m too happy to see the resurgence of my favourite boots, leggings and oversized jumpers. I’d argue that Autumn is my favourite season to style mainly because you can do so much with layers: long jumpers, casual tees, knee high boots… And of course there’s the colours. I love the brown, beige and orange tones that come in stores around this time of year. But it’s also the textures; I love the tweeds and faux-furs, which can add an air of sophistication to pretty much any outfit. So it was great to see these textures making their way back on to the runway this season. I particularly loved Mui Mui’s 80s inspired oversized tweet coat fashioned by Elle Fanning (click here to view). Also making an appearance this season will be checks (Cher Horowitz vibes), animal prints (yes – you heard us right), fringing (festival favourite) and leather (we recommend leather pencil skirts or leather trousers teamed with knitted jumpers).
